Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have neutralised 15 terrorists, including two high-profile Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) commanders, Abu Musanna and Hassan Abu Huraira, in precision airstrikes north of Kerenoa, Marte Local Government Area of Borno State. The operation, conducted at about 9:20 p.m. on October 28, 2026, also destroyed structures suspected of serving as an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) logistics hub.
Operational information made available to TheRadarNewsNG indicated that the mission followed intelligence reports on terrorist activities in the area. Air assets tracked two suspected fighters on a motorcycle to a makeshift structure beneath a tree. Further surveillance revealed additional movements, prompting precision strikes on the location.
Post-strike assessment indicated that 15 terrorists were neutralised and the structures destroyed. A secondary fire suggested the site may have been used to store IED-related logistics.
Abu Musanna and Hassan Abu Huraira were among those reportedly killed, while several other fighters sustained serious injuries. The Wali, or ISWAP governor, in the area was also reportedly critically wounded.
The operation forms part of OPHK’s sustained intelligence-led offensive to degrade terrorist capabilities, disrupt their logistics and dismantle their networks across the North-East.
